They have advanced alongside the technology of plasma cutting system. First models of torches prove to be crude, big and expensive but as it evolved it became high-tech, smaller and cheaper.

Today, development in torches has brought about three major types of plasma torches: hand held, mechanized and robotic. Moreover, what plays as integral components of torches are its body, power switch, and the consumables in them.

As we have seen this advancement, it is enough to say that plasma torches technology indeed has come a long way.
